All over the island one can find empty unoccupied buildings. Partly never finished like the Sanatorio de Abona between Los Abades and Poris de Abona.. Originally intended to become a Leprosy Sanatorium but neither finished nor used as such. Until the Year 2000 the ruines were used for maneuvers of the Spanish Military. Today it serves - rather unvoluntary - as "hiding-place" for youngster.

Other deserted buildings and settlements, once had been inhabited and now abandoned and left to nature and tides. We dedicated a separate area to these impressive objects. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not always the same as harmony.
