The butterfly house Mariposario del Drago is located in Icod de los Vinos near the famous dragontree Drago Milenario. Inaugurated in 1997 it became the home for now more than 800 butterflies, flying around the visitors.

Here are residing butterflies from all over the world in such a remarkable diversity of species, ranging from the smallest butterfly with a wingspan of 2 cm up to a wingspan of 30 cm.

At the breeding place can be watched closely every phase of the butterfly metamorphosis - the eggs, the caterpillars, the chrysalis and the birth of the butterfly.
