Santiago del Teide is located on a plateau between the the westward Teno mountains and the foothills of the Teide mountain in eastern direction.
Mostly people only passing through the mountain village on their way to the better known Masca.
Well worth seeing is the church Santiago de Compostela from the 17th century, with its white cupolas giving an arabic impression.
The surrounding area is formed by agriculture, espacially wine growing and almond trees.
Nowadays Santiago del Teide is responsible for the touristic administration of the communal coastal resorts Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago with Playa de la Arena
