Santa Cruz de Tenerife is not only the capital of the island Tenerife but also of the total autonomous »Canary Island« region, as a completely normal modern city, with everything that inspires its visitors.
Whether during the daytime with shopping, in cafés, museums and large places and parks - or at night into numerous taverns - here always pulsates life - particularly in the carnival.

The city is located in the North-East of the island and has probably therefore a very moved past. For example 1492 landed the Spaniard Alonso Fernádez de Lungo and started from here his conquest of the island. He founded 1494 the present trading metropolis.

And the city continues to grow together with La Laguna.
