The village San Andrés is particularly known for the Playa Las Teresitas, an artificially
created beach, which was filled with original sand from the Sahara and decorated with many palm trees.
A bank protects the bay and provides swimming without dangers.
Only a few kilometers north of Santa Cruz it became a favourite vacation centre espacially for the
people of Tenerife, but even so it has (still) its original charm of the fishing village.
Worth seeing is also the Castillo, a half tumbled down round tower. Equally popular is San Andrés
as a starting point for hiking tours in the nearby Anaga mountains, and of course for the small bars
and good seafood restaurants.
