The popular holiday resort in the south of Tenerife provides two wide sand beaches for the sunhungry tourists:
the Playa de los Cristianos and the Playa de las Vistas.
Protected against the strong antlantic surge from quay wall and wave-breakers,
both are among the most popular and secure beaches of the island.
The town has preservered in comparison with the nearby Playa de las Américas even more of its original atmosphere.
One can promenade alongside the beaches on a beautiful large promenade and the pedestrian area leads through the town to the Church Plaza Virgen del Carmen.
The highly frequented harbour is landing stage for the ferry boat to the western neighbouring islands La Gomera, Hierro and La Palma, and other numerous boat trips.
