Los Abades is an emerging village which was constructed in recent years on the drawing board and realised in the shape of a fishbone. Concipated as an additional holiday resort for the near Poris de Abona it possesses a Centro Commercial - that is unfortunately completely empty and unused. Obviously the concepts of the drawing board did not rather correspond with the economical conditions. Nevertheless one can find some bars near the beach with everything neaded for a quiet holiday.

Los Abades lies in a swale below a plain level where the ruines of a projected sanatorium are standing at the Punta de Abona. The half-finished church can be seen from every point in Los Abades.
