La Esperanza is located approximately seven kilometers from La Laguna at the road towards the Parque Nacional del Teide and near the Bosque de la Esperanza, a huge woodland where large eucalyptus trees and pines up to 40 meters are to be found.

The quiet village is an ideal starting point for wandering tourists due to its wide network of hiking trails. Starting from La Esperanza one can explore the wonderful landscape up to the Teide high plateau.
