Adeje is not only wide but also ancient. Before the Spanish arrived to found here one of their first settlements, the island king was based here due to the good water supply of the area. Today here is also based the administration for the important tourist center Costa Adeje.

The old center of Adeje is fair and beautiful and is attuned to a large stream of visitors. Wanderers can choose it as starting point for wanderings in the Barranco del Infierno (Canyon of Hell).
